About Certiva

The independent standard for AI in schools

Certiva is the independent accreditation and certification body for AI-enabled schools. We define the standard for the safe, ethical and effective use of AI in education — and certify the educators, schools and students who meet it.

🎯

Our mission

To make responsible, high-quality AI in education verifiable — so every school can prove it, and every family can trust it.

🧭

Our approach

Independent and AI-native. We sell no AI tools and hold no vendor ties — our only product is trust, backed by rigorous, transparent methodology.

⚖️

Our values

Safety, ethics and learning first. We reduce anxiety about AI rather than amplify it — evidence-led, and plain-spoken with families.

What we do

Certify people. Accredit schools. Equip students.

Certify people

AI Teacher & AI Leader Certificates against internationally-aligned competency frameworks.

Accredit schools

“Certiva AI-Ready” accreditation, awarded after evidence review and an on-site evaluation.

Equip students

A licensed K–12 student AI literacy curriculum with progressive badges.

Governance

A standard held to account

The Certiva Standard and competency frameworks are proprietary IP, aligned with the UNESCO AI Competency Framework, the ISTE Standards, the OECD AI Principles and the EU AI Act.

The Standard is maintained by our Standards & Quality function with input from an independent expert review board. It is versioned; material changes are published with a transition period so accredited schools can adapt.

Independence, by design

  • No AI vendor ownership or commercial ties.
  • Decision panels independent of the evaluation team.
  • Evaluators barred from assessing schools they’ve advised.
  • A published appeals and complaints route.

Certiva is operated by Profectify LLC (Certiva).
